Celso Rangel, Brazilian guitarist, arranger, music producer and composer of original soundtracks, was born in Rio de Janeiro, the postcard city of Brazil, the country of Bossa Nova, Samba and Football. He began his career at a very young age, already at the age of ten, where Senhor Cesar, father of the great Brazilian artist Paulinho da Viola, saw him playing in a chorinho circle in his neighborhood and decided to give him a great opportunity, leading him to take mandolin lessons with disciple of Jacob do Bandolim, master Joel Nascimento, where he never stopped from then on. A few years later, going to live with his family in the city of Salvador, Bahia, he meets the Gomes family, where Rangel falls in love with the sound of guitarist Pepeu Gomes, who becomes his musical reference on the guitar, where years later he begins to produce Bahian music and participate from some shows.

Returning to Rio de Janeiro, Rangel was invited to play in dance bands where he opened for the great artist Tim Maia, who very much enjoyed his performance and began a friendship to the point where Tim introduced Quincy Jones to Rangel, who from then on everything started to change in the mind of the young music producer, who starts thinking about 360-degree production when he produces an artist, with thoughts ranging from selling phonograms, selling shows and building a solid artistic career.

Celso Rangel worked alongside big names in world music such as: Tim Maia, Roberto Carlos, Banda mel, Banda Reflexos, Sting, Billy Paul, Menudo, Xuxa, Fincabaute, Cassiano, Claudio Zoli, Tunai, Control Panel Band, Clothing Nova , Ricardo Chaves, Paul Simon, Lincoln Olivette & Robson Jorge and many other artists, where their greatest feature within each work is the construction of a new musical artistic concept.

In 2018 Rangel receives the International Music Producer of the Year award and also with Honors and Merit receives the decoration of Comendador da Música Brasileira, due to his work and for being one of the greatest promoters of Brazilian musical culture abroad, he also receives the Berimbau award of Gold in Salvador Bahia for his dedication to Bahian culture internationally.

For fifteen years, Rangel has been a voting member of the Latin Grammy Academy, where, also in 2018, with his first instrumental album called Rio de Janeiro, he received a nomination for the Latin Grammy Award.

For years he has been developing music production and composition in soundtracks for movies and TV shows for Italy, Brazil, United States, and Portugal.

Since 2015 celso Rangel has been invited to be a judge in the Video Music segment at Film Festivals in London, Venice, Los Angeles, Portugal and Brazil.

As of 2023 Celso Rangel will start his “Smooth Jazz Brazil” Tour in Europe with his newest Instrumental work with special appearances by singers he likes and believes in.

In the area of production of musical events, Rangel participated in major festivals such as: Rock in Rio, Heineken in Concert, Vibe Zone, Tim Festival, Free Jazz, Brazilian Fest Miami, Brazilian Day New York, Monster of Rock, Brazilian Jazz Festival.
